The most commonly known phase of the process is the throwing. Made famous by that fateful scene in Ghost, it’s the moment a lump of mud transforms into something functional thanks to patient hands & a bit of centrifugal force. But that’s only the beginning. There are (roughly) 4 more steps after the initial throwing before a piece is complete.

Hi, I’m Rebecca. That’s me on my wedding day, because that day is what accidentally launched Purposeful Pottery.

You see, I made 36 unique bud vases, wrapped them in the clothes in my carry-on, and carted them halfway across the world to Italy in order to surprise our guests with handmade favors (that also functioned as a part of our decor on the table behind us there).

With my full-time work as professional photographer, I have a unique understanding of what it takes to bring the personal touch into a client’s experience and now enjoy collaborating with other small businesses to create something truly unique.
